Studied art and cinema at Tehran University and was involved in 12 movies, 27 TV series and 11 theatre performances as a makeup artist and co-directed 3 movies before migrating to Australia. He continued his artistic activities by directing two short films in Australia. He is a co-founder and creative director of Charsoo Theatre and directed 'Drought & Lies' by Mohammad Yaghoubi, staged in 2017 at Monkey Baa Theatre Sydney. 


Baha Jamali

Baha has long experience in TV and theatre production especially for the young audiences as a director and actor. He's completed his academic studies in film directing and then continued to work as both a theatre actor and a filmmaker for over 12 years before moving to Australia in 2013. He worked with Radio 3ZZZ and also Channel 31 Melbourne for a documentary film-making project and then continued theatre acting in Sydney with Ayla Drama Group in'The Ship of Fools' and with Charsoo Theatre in 'Drought and Lies'. 'Day-Inside-Space', '17', 'Third Person Singular' and 'Phantasmagoria' to name a few of his short films. He is currently studying Screen and Media - Film and Television in TAFE Australia.


Maedeh Timajchi

Started acting since she was very young. Moving to Australia she was part of Genesian Theatre acted in 'Simpson, J 202'. Also 'Miss Julie', 'Heart of Dog', and 'The Ship of Fools' was her rewarding experiences with Ayla Drama Group as an actress. She acted as Mitra a different role in 'Drought and Lies' produced by Charsoo Theatre in 2017.


Navid Ghasemi

He is an Engineer and MBA graduate. As a young student, he experienced acting, painting, camera shooting, and photography. Then he practiced Daf with Bijan Kamkar and learned to play Harmonica. Moved to Australia in 2013, he was part of Ayla Drama Group as an actor and sound designer for 'The Ship of Fools'. He was an actor in 'Drought and Lies' produced by Charsoo Theatre in 2017.  To pursue his passion he also completed a NIDA acting techniques course in Sydney. Navid is currently working on Charsoo Theatre's next production as an actor and director assistant. 


Pegah Panah

Pegah studied architecture at the University of Sydney. She is a trained vocalist in various styles and genres and she is singing for 14 years now. Her love for arts has helped her to establish herself also as a painter, carpet weaver, designer, and architect. She took part in Mahtab Nasirpour's acting classes in 2016. Her first theatrical experience as an actor was 'Drought and Lies' produced by Charsoo Theatre in 2017.


Yasser Narimani

Yasser has got a Master in Civil Engineering from UTS. He is a co-founder of Ayla Drama Group, an Iranian theatre group in Sydney, established in 2010 and member of the board of Charsoo Theatre. He is experienced in production, lighting and set design of 12 stage performances like 'The Ship of Fools' and 'Drought and Lies' just to name a few. As a writer, he has published 35 short comedy stories in Persian Gulf Weekly in Sydney. The short stories of a new immigrant in Australia and his life.

Monireh Vahdat Khabiri

Monireh is graduated in Commerce and Accounting. Born to an art-loving family, she was singing Persian folk songs from when she was a young child. She graduated with Honors from Maestro Parisa Vaezi’s classes in Ministry of Culture and Art. Monireh has showcased Persian classical music by performing numerous concerts in Australia. Upon arrival in Australia in 1991, Monireh expanded her musical knowledge and graduated from Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She was a radio presenter & writer for Payam Pars (2SER- 107.3 FM). She also played in few short films like 'Post Life', 'Inheritance' and 'Job Hunter'. 


Sogand Majnouni

Sogand studied Graphic Design. She also does acting, painting and statue making. She was in a leading role organizing individual and group exhibitions displaying works by prominent Iranian artists in well-known galleries in Tehran. Moved to Australia in 2012, she became part of Kooch Theatre as an actress and graphic designer for 'Residing in Transit' 2017. She is currently with Charsoo Theatre as an actress working on the next production to be staged in 2018.


Thelma Ghayyem

Thelma studied computer engineering, and she is a professional rock and ice climber. She's completed some courses in theatre and music. Back in Iran, she was an actress and member of the creative team for some stage performances and more than 12 consulting theatre performances in nature. 'Between Worlds' or 'Hôtel des deux mondes' by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, ‘Deal to Meet’ and ‘Love without L-O-V-E’ to name a few.  She also used to sing with choral ensembles.  She moved to Australia in 2016, and she's currently working with Charsoo Theatre as an actress in its next production in 2018 in Sydney.


Arash Salehi

Arash is a social development and cultural engagement activist. He has experience as refugee mentor for unaccompanied minors, activity coordinator in orphanages, project manager and program coordinator at different charity organizations. Arash has done an acting course at Community College in 2016. He is currently working with Charsoo Theatre as director assistant and a member of the production team.

Atefeh Ghasemi

Atefeh is a practice manager in a medical center. Showing a passion for art and theatrical production, she is one the hard-working members of our production team bringing in her project management and communication skills to assist in planning and supervising the production process. She is currently working on Charsoo Theatre's next production as a script supervisor.

Atoosa Azizi

Atoosa is a laboratory demonstrator at The University of Sydney and Macquarie University. She graduated with honors in the field of science from the University of Sydney in 2016. At the moment, she is studying GDP in the field of psychology at The University of Sydney. Her passion for art is expressed in Latin dance performance and modeling for portraits and photography. She is also involved in some social volunteer works as a primary ethics teacher and teaching in refugee programs. Currently, she is working with the team on Charsoo Theatre’s next performance production.

Mehrdad Doushabchi

Mehrdad is a graduate of Civil Engineering, Insurance Management and has Master of International Business from University of Sydney and GD in Applied Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Adelaide. He is a project manager in Roads and Maritime Services, NSW since 2009. Mehrdad plays Guitar and sings. He got the main acting role in a short film named 'The Return'. He is currently working on Charsoo Theatre's next production as an actor.
